The Art Connection, Inc. and Toward Independent Living & Learning (TILL), Inc. worked together to transform TILL’s Billerica residential day program into a more welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors. Through their art donation program, The Art Connection facilitated the donation of 17 original works of art by 14 artists for installation into Till’s Billerica space. TILL Inc. will host a reception to show the new collection and thank the artists on Thursday, May 13, from 1-2pm at their Billerica location, 267 Boston Rd. #1, Billerica, MA 01862.
Dafna Krouk-Gordon , President and Founder of TILL, Inc., commented on the difference made by having original artwork hanging on their walls. “The paintings and other original works set a wonderful tone for our space, and our program, with the addition of such vibrant color, imagery, and creativity!”
TILL’s staff and clients chose works in a variety of media by Greater Boston area artists: Prilla Smith Brackett, Linda Clave, Laura Evans, Faith Hyde, Steve Klarer, Susan Makin, Shirley Patroll, Florence Putterman, Elizabeth Ryan, Janet Shapero, Maria Termini, Susan Schwalb, Steven Trindade, and Richard B. Williams. Images of the artworks are available on request.
TILL had received artwork through The Art Connection in 2008 for their Chelsea location, and they will soon add artwork to their program in Hudson, MA.
Toward Independent Living and Learning’s mission is to develop and operate innovative services for individuals of all ages and abilities which maximize their potential for personal growth and independent living. TILL’s day habilitation centers help individuals be as independent as possible by focusing on their abilities rather than their disabilities and offering training, medical and therapeutic services in order for them to be fully participating members of their home and community.
