The Art Connection Attracts New Directors

BOSTON – November 2009 – The Art Connection, a not-for-profit that connects artists and donors to community service organizations through placement of original artwork, announced today three new directors to their board. The directors are Ildiko Szabo, Director of Community Life at Youville House Assisted Living Residence in Cambridge, David Greenberg, a health care operations consultant with Balon Process Management, and Bob Savage, Finance Manager of Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge. And, Dr. Mary Coogan has returned to her role as board chair for The Art Connection.

“I am delighted to have such strong talent joining the board of The Art Connection,” said Coogan. “Their experience as recipients of artwork through The Art Connection for their own organizations and the depth of their individual, professional skills will be valuable additions to the work of our board as we move into our 15th year.”

The Art Connection’s current Board is comprised of seventeen directors: two artists including founder, Fay Chandler, business professionals in finance, marketing, and law, two small business entrepreneurs, an arts consultant, seven non-profit professionals, and board chair Mary Coogan, psychotherapist and artist. Over its fourteen-year history, The Art Connection has been extremely fortunate to recruit some of its most passionate advocates from the communities and organizations where it has facilitated its permanent art donations.
