Selected Highlights from Artists’ Resumes

Ken Beck won the prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation Artist’s Grant in 1991. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the DeCordova are among the institutions that have collected Mr. Beck’s work. He has had one person exhibitions at the Gallery NAGA, the Mills Gallery, the Gallery Piano Factory, among others.

Fay Chandler’s work has been collected by the Chrysler Museum of Art, Danforth Museum, and the DeCordova among other institutions. Her papers and slides are preserved at the Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America at Radcliffe College in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Ralph Hamilton was given an award from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in 1990. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Rose Art Museum are among the museums that have collected his work.

Sarah Hutt earned a project grant by the LEF Foundation in 1997, an award by the MacDowell Colony, and a New England Foundation for the Arts Sculpture Fellowship. Her one-person shows include Onondaga Memories at the Gallery 28/New England School of Art and Design.

Michael Mazur’s career included being collected by the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, among many others. He has taught at Harvard University, Brandeis University, and the Rhode Island School of Design, and was a visiting professor at Yale University.

Maud Morgan’s work has been collected by the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. She was an artist-in-resident at Yaddo and exhibited with Jackson Pollack, Mark Rothko, and Richard Pousette-Dart.

Cynthia Nartonis was awarded a grant from the E.D. Foundation in 1988. She is represented by galleries around the country, and has been a guest artist at the Tamarind Institute in New Mexico. Her work is in the collections of many major corporations, private owners, and public institutions, including AT&T, MCI, Ameritech Publishing in Chicago, and Alsopp McKinley in New York.

Nancy Simonds has had solo exhibitions at New World Bank, the Habitat Institute, and Boston Lasergraphics. She has also exhibited at the Howard Yezerski Gallery, the San Diego Art Institute, and the Kingston Gallery. Her work is in the collections of a variety of corporations, including Adam & Co. in London and A.M. Kearney in Illinois and New York.

Mark Steele is a free-lance illustrator, as well as a fine artist. His work appears in the collections of the Andover Library, the Boston Ballet, and the Boston Center for the Arts. He has had exhibitions at the Mills Gallery (solo), Symphony Hall, and the Kennedy Library.
