The art chosen for the installation by our juror, Brent Refsland, focuses on the strong bonds and act of giving, seen not only within The Art Connection and those affected by its overall purpose, but also in everyday interactions and experiences. Chain Reaction captures the cyclical experience and sense of fulfillment linked to the act of giving and that signifies the transformative power of inspiration throughout our community. See the artwork in the show online here.

Juror Brent Refsland was born and raised in rural Minnesota. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Arizona State University in 2005. He departed shortly after graduation and spent three years living in Austin, Texas. In the summer of 2008, he moved to Boston. Soon after, Brent opened The Hallway Gallery in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. In 2011, he launched his next project, Room 68, a furniture and design store adjacent to his gallery. Both venues feature emerging artists and designers from near and far.
