Susan Collings joined in September 2010 as the Executive Director. Previously, Susan was the director of development for the Phillips Brooks House Association at Harvard University, teaching fundraising strategies and collaborating with students and alumni on annual giving after successful completion of a $7.5 million endowment campaign. Prior to PBHA, Susan worked in child welfare at Harbor Schools and Family Services on the North Shore and in arts management at the Robert W. Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta. She completed her degree in art history at Williams College, where she worked at the Clark Art Institute and the Williams College Museum of Art. An amateur photographer, Susan has traveled and lived abroad extensively and looks forward to bringing her passion for art and her love of nonprofit organizations to The Art Connection.

Sarah Berry has been managing the art placement program at The Art Connection since December 2010. She works closely with our generous donating artists and collectors and is committed to artist stewardship. Sarah enjoys visiting local social service agencies to facilitate the art selection process. She loves to see which artworks speak to the staff and clients as they select artwork work their community. Sarah is a photographer and a donating artist. She holds an MS in arts administration from Boston University and a BA in psychology from George Mason University, and has taught art and photography to budding artists between the ages of 5 and 95.

Sarah B. Shallbetter, Program Coordinator since 2001, is a visual artist. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and a post-baccalaureate degree from UMass, Dartmouth. Sarah is a member of The Boston Printmakers and works out of Mixit Print Studios. In addition to program process improvement, Sarah facilitates agency/artist outreach, directs extensive follow-up procedures with both groups, and handles new art donations. She also oversees the Volunteer Program, manages a comprehensive artist/agency/funders' database, and is a participating art donor.
